Refurbished MacBooks, iMacs, iPhones and iPads often arrive at iMac and More in larger batches. Before a device appears in our webshop, it goes through a fixed six-step inspection process, carried out by our Apple specialists.
On arrival, every device is first registered, given a unique internal reference number and subjected to an initial visual check for visible damage. The refurbished MacBook, iMac, iPhone or iPad is then cleaned professionally, so our specialists can form a fair picture of its true condition in the next steps.
We then use specialist software to read out the technical data for every device. This gives us an accurate picture of the internal condition of each refurbished MacBook, iMac, iPhone, iPad Air or iPad Pro: battery health, charge cycles, processor (CPU), memory (RAM), storage capacity (SSD), graphics card (GPU) and other technical specifications.
In step three, our Apple specialists test every hardware component one by one. Each part must be fully functional before the device can move on to the next step.
After the technical check comes the visual inspection. Our specialists assess every refurbished MacBook, iPhone or iPad under good lighting for scratches, dents, wear and overall cosmetic condition. This assessment forms the basis for the final grading.
Based on the visual inspection, the device is assigned the appropriate grade. Important: grading relates only to cosmetic condition. Technically, every refurbished Apple product — regardless of grade — must be 100% functional.
Before a refurbished MacBook, iMac, iPhone or iPad appears in our webshop, we carry out one final quality check. We install the latest version of macOS or iPadOS/iOS, reset the device and prepare it for sale in tidy packaging with the right accessories.
Important to know: grading at iMac and More only relates to the cosmetic condition of the device, not how it functions. Every refurbished Apple product is fully tested technically and must be 100% functional — whether it's Grade A, B or C.
